Looking for some new leg workouts? Here are 4 great exercises that Josh Bowmar recommends:
#1: Weighted Barbell Squats. This first exercise starts off as a warm up – regular barbell squats.. Start with light weight to get your legs ready for this killer leg day. Then make your way up to the heavy squats. Make sure you’re using good form and safe but efficient weight. Do about 5-10 Reps and 3-5 sets for this one.
#2: Hack Squats. This exercise is on a squat machine with bands connected to each side of the machine for resistance. The bands allow you to maximize your resistance and lift heavy weight for a lot of reps. How awesome is that? They make it easier to lift heavier weights, which makes you stronger and builds those legs! Give resistance bands a try. You won’t regret it! For this exercise, do 10 reps and 3-5 sets.
#3 Starfish Squats. This workout hits your hamstrings and glutes but it has to be done correctly. Make sure you maintain a neutral spine throughout this exercise. Also, make sure while doing this movement that you are using your glutes and hamstrings, not your lower back. Do this by pivoting your pelvis. Pull yourself in and up when you do this exercise and really challenge those muscles! Josh Bowmar recommends doing 10 reps and 3-5 sets.
#4 Jumping Goblet Squats. This is such a great exercise, it gets your heart pumping and your muscles pumped up. The main goal of this exercise is to be light on your feet but quick at the same time. Make sure you pick a weight heavy enough to strengthen your leg muscles, but light enough that you can jump with no problems.. Strong squat then quick tap in the middle by bringing your legs together. For this exercise, do 10 reps and 3-5 sets.
